The grain basis trading course provides students and professionals with detailed working knowledge of futures markets, price management techniques, and their application to agricultural markets. The course is offered in two online formats:


A longtime collaboration between the University of Arkansas Dale Bumpers College of Agricultural, Food and Life Sciences and White Commercial Corporation of Stuart, Fla., and Kansas City produced this course offering, which is administered through the Global Campus.

The course will cover the proper procedures and daily routines involved in the execution and administration of basis transactions. It will include a study of grain futures markets, hedging procedures, and merchandising reports and documentation.

Those enrolling for academic credit may earn 3 hours on their University of Arkansas transcripts and can earn a Certificate of Achievement in Basis Trading Administration (Level 1). Others who seek professional certification – but not academic credit – can earn a Certificate of Achievement in Basis Trading Administration (Level 1).
