About me, in my words
I am currently working on my Ed.D. in Educational Technology from Boise State University. Prior to joining the University of Arkansas I worked for seven years as the university marketing manager for the Fayetteville Visitors Bureau. I live in Fayetteville with my husband, Jon, and our three English Bulldogs, Ramsay, Emily and Nitro.
My favorite online teaching tool is...
VoiceThread. VoiceThread gives students and faculty the ability to have a discussion using video, audio and chat without having to meet at the same time. Students can communicate with the class using the method that is the most comfortable and at a time that is the most convenient.
The best part about working with faculty is...
finding out about all the amazing research that is going on at the university. When I am helping faculty design an online class I try to make sure that the student will feel like he or she has a connection with the instructor. One way of doing that is by having faculty share their research and tell students why they are passionate about their field.
When I walk across the University of Arkansas campus, I am always...
proud to be a Razorback. The names on Senior Walk represent innovators in government, industries, and non-profits. I love seeing where our alumni make a difference in the world and I am proud to help build courses so that more people will have access to a diploma from the University of Arkansas. Woo Pig!
