Online Course Development
The Global Campus supports academic colleges and schools in the development of new online and distance education offerings from the University of Arkansas. We will work with you to develop goals and objectives for expanding and enhancing online and distance education offerings designed to provide students across Arkansas – and beyond – with the educational opportunities they need to achieve their academic and professional goals.
Online Course Development Application
Faculty can use the Online Course Development Application form to initiate the process of:
- Gaining the support of the Instructional Design and Support Services team, who will help you build your course and share with you the nationally recognized best practices of online teaching
- Obtaining approval for financial support for your college or school to develop an online course
- Setting up training for you, helping you understand the technology and tools used by the university to deliver online courses
- Connecting you with national organizations concerned with online pedagogy and trends, including Eduventures, Sloan Consortium, Educause, Quality Matters, etc.
The first step for any faculty member is to gain the approval of the development of an online course from his or her department chair/head and dean. This is to ensure that the development of a course is in line with the college’s or school’s strategic academic plan.
